SF Gate: EatDrinkFilms hosting San Francisco film festival to celebrate National Food Day

Saturday, October 24, is Food Day, an annual day of awareness that was first launched in 2011 by the Center for Science in the Public Interest to promote food policy change and inspire Americans to change the way they eat.

For this year’s celebration, on the local front Eat Drink Films is collaborating with foodday.org for a daylong food film festival that will include the screening of three San Francisco premieres, a showing of Gabriel Axel’s 1987 Oscar-winning classic, “Babette’s Feast,” and tasting event.

The festival is a sneak peek at Eat Drink Films’ larger Bay Area-wide EatDrinkFilms Festival, which is planned for August 2016.

The day’s festivities will be held at both the Exploratorium on the Embarcadero and the Mission’s Roxie Theater. All day passes are $40 for four films at the Roxie. Single admission is $14. Admission to the Exploratorium event is free.
